NFL Week 11 Thursday Night Football Packers vs Seahawks

As the season stretches into its second half, the 2019 playoff picture gets a little clearer, and Thursday night of week eleven offers up a matchup between two teams that are in a desperate hunt for a win if they want to keep playoff hopes alive. The Seahawks are coming off a game against the NFL-best LA Rams in which they held the score tight throughout and were leading for most of the first half. Although they now have a losing record after that contest (4-5), they are still holding on to second place in the NFC West. The Packers, on the other hand, find themselves in the opposite situation; despite having a .500 record (4-4-1), they are second to last in their Division, trailing the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings in a division that is practically a free-for-all.

This game will have a lot on the line: a winning record, a possible playoff spot, and pride, so you'll want to immerse yourself in all the action by heading over to our NFL sportsbook online and making a wager!

For Seattle, they have almost no hope of catching the Rams at the top of the NFC West. LA is 9-1 and does not look like they are slowing down anytime soon. After an impressively close game against the best team in the league last week, Seattle has to be feeling good about their chances of grabbing a wild-card spot.

The right players are also heating up at the right time for the Seahawks. WR Tyler Lockett has found the end zone in 7 of 9 games played so far, and Russell Wilson has had two or more passing TDs in 5 straight games

Another piece of good news is that up to this point, the Seahawks are relatively injury-free. Chris Carson was the only impact player to miss last game, and he is set to make his return this week against Green Bay.

Meanwhile, the Packers are coming off a convincing win against the Dolphins last week. They pounded Miami 31-12, with WR Devonte Adams continuing his hot streak by scoring two TDs. He now has 6 in his previous four games. RB Aaron Jones is also having success recently, having rushed for 145 yards and two TDs against Miami.

Adams is convinced that combined threat of he and Jones is very tough for defenses to handle, as he told reporters last week.

“It puts the defense in a bind; it puts them to where they’ve got to load up that box, and it allows us to have more opportunities outside,” said Adams. “If they keep moving the ball like that and slashing and making big plays, it’s pretty tough to figure out what to defend.”

The bad news for Green Bay this week is that they are 0-4 on the road coming into this game. The Seahawks, on the other hand, are historically good at home in primetime games, but so far this season have an unimpressive 1-2 record in front of their home crowd.

Injury-wise, Green Bay will be without WR Geronimo Allison, who is on the IR because of a groin injury.

In all head to head action, the Green Bay Packers lead the Seattle Seahawks 13-8. The Packers won the last matchup in September of 2017 by a score of 17-9.
