The Kentucky Derby will always have many eyes on it. The Run for the Roses is as coveted as any event in sports, and, being part of the Triple Crown, the prestige on Churchill Downs is at the Olympus of horse racing.

Usually, the first jewel ran in the Triple Crown. This year rescheduling makes the 2020 edition the middle point of the three races instead of being the first to open the gates.

Belmont Stakes already passed, and Tiz The Law came out on top to validate his odds as the favorite with an impressive run on the stretch. Due to that, he is the favorite for the second jewel of this year's only candidate to win the Triple Crown.

Here are the top contenders:

Tiz The Law +350

Fresh of winning the first Triple Crown jewel, Tiz The Law is the number one odds on favorite. Amassing five wins in six starts, the Barclay Tagg product is an absolute candidate for the Triple Crown, and, to do that, the Sackatoga Stable horse has to win at Churchill Downs as well.

Jockeyed by Manuel Franco, Tiz The Law put a clinic on Belmont and surely will look to replicate the same level on the Fastest Two Minutes in Sports.

Honor A.P. +500

Honor A.P. didn't compete at Belmont, but with a record of two first places and two-second places in his four starts, the thoroughbred makes sure to always end up in the podium. Trained by John Shirreffs and jockeyed by Mike E. Smith, the upset for Honor A.P. pays $500 per $100.

Authentic +800

Another three-year-old that didn't run at Belmont, Authentic, is third on the odds. The colt has won two of his three starts while the other ended as a runner up.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Authentic lost his last race after two straight victories in Santa Anita, and an upset at the Derby can be a huge surprise for a high three-digit payday at the second jewel.

Dr. Post +1500

The runner up of the Belmont Stakes will surely look for revenge against Tiz The Law after the latter finished Dr. Post's Triple Crown hopes.

With two victories and one-second place in four starts, Dr. Post is jockeyed by top-class Irad Ortiz Jr., who surely wants to secure the top prize at Churchill Downs.

King Guillermo +2000

The three-year-old thoroughbred has had two starts in 2020, winning one in Tampa Bay and ending up second at the Arkansas Derby.

Trained by Juan Carlos Ávila and jockeyed by Samy Camacho, the Latino horse is a certain longshot going into the Kentucky Derby.

This year's edition of the Fastest Two Minutes in Sports will be an all-out war between colts as many will try to prevent Tiz The Law to continue his quest to the Triple Crown and secure the top prize.
