March Madness 2019 Top Picks, Best College Basketball Betting Odds

March Madness is officially here. Since the Selection Committee put out the NCAA Basketball Tournament bracket earlier this week, fans everywhere have been racing to get their picks right. This year, some of the top teams stumbled in their conference championships, meaning that there might be more than one big upset in the works. We looked at all the top-rated teams on our sportsbook and broke down their chances for winning it all:

Gonzaga (+125) The Zags took a big hit when they lost the West Coast Conference Championship game 60-47 to Saint Mary’s. After having been atop the AP poll for most of the season, the loss set them back enough to where many expected them not to get a #1 seed in the national tournament. That turned out to be nothing more than speculation, however, as they are atop the West Regional Bracket heading into the tournament. The caveat here is that the region is loaded with difficult matchups; Texas Tech, Florida State, and especially Michigan all pose threats to Gonzaga on their quest for a national title.

Duke (+200) Little needs to be said that hasn’t been said already. By this point, every basketball fan on the planet is aware of the weapon that Duke has in Zion Williamson, who is back after an injury and ready to take his team to the top. Duke is the #1 seed in a region where their only competition is Michigan State, who have had injury issues all season, including two big ones from their recent Big Ten Conference Championship game. So even if these teams run into one another, it is likely that the Spartans will be shorthanded for the matchup, giving a massive advantage to Duke.

Texas Tech (+550) Despite coming off one of the best regular-season records in their program’s history, Texas Tech failed to get past the quarterfinals in the Big 12 Conference Championship, falling to West Virginia. That setback is either an indication that this team is losing its grip or that they will be playing hungry coming into the tournament. Either way, they are going to have to fight their way out of the uber-competitive West Region of the tournament, so they will have to regain their regular-season form if they want to have any success.

Michigan (+275) The Wolverines were the second-best defensive teams all year, and their efforts got them a 28-6 record and a shot at a Big 10 title against rival Michigan State. They dropped that championship game 60-65 but were still considered good enough by the selection committee to be ranked #2 in their region. As long as their offense keeps cranking out enough points, they should be in good shape for the tournament, especially considering that last year they made it to the Final Four in a very similar bracket.

Florida State (+600) Last year the Seminoles enjoyed an upset run to the Elite 8 for only the third time in School History. The crowning achievement of that run was a victory over Gonzaga in the Sweet 16, but they were unable to get past Michigan in the Elite 8. This year they have followed up on their success, going 27-7 in the regular season and marching all the way to the ACC final, where they gave Duke a run for their money in the title game. Seminole Terance Mann was a defensive nightmare for Zion Williamson in the post and finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. Sixth man Mfiondu Kabengele is another player to keep an eye on, having scored some very clutch 3-pointers in that game.
