Lenox Industrial Tools 301 Preview: What to Watch For in New Hampshire

NASCAR takes center stage this weekend as the racers take to the raceway in New Hampshire.

This is the last visit to a Chase track before the "playoffs" begin, and drivers who are already virtual locks for the Chase would do well to use it as an extended testing session. Loudon is the second race in the Chase, meaning everyone's going to want to use it to get off to an early hot, 48-chasing start. So while we'd never expect Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch or Matt Kenseth to take the race off, don't be too distraught if they don't bring home a top-shelf finish. They've got the second trip to this track in mind

The experts have chimed in with three racers that could take the checkered flag.

Clint Bowyer: Yes, Bowyer will make it back-to-back victories at the scene of the crime that took him out of Chase contention in 2010. Bowyer has struggled recently, saying over the radio before he crashed at Kentucky that the team had missed the setup over the last month. They won't miss the setup on Sunday, and yes, Bowyer's car will be completely legal. No wrecker involved. – Nick Bromberg

Jeff Gordon: Four-time has been fairly inconsistent this season. However, one area where he's been solid is on flat tracks. He won at Phoenix, won at Pocono and was running up front at Richmond until a heavy crash sent him to the back. Oh, and he almost always finishes in the top 10 at New Hampshire. – Jay Hart

Denny Hamlin: In 10 races at New Hampshire, Hamlin has never finished outside the top 15. That's exactly the kind of consistency he needs right now to get into the top 10 and not have to worry about any last-second catastrophes keeping him out of the Chase. He's nowhere near as dominant as he was last year, but then again, that didn't finish out quite how he'd like, either. – Jay Busbee
