Thanksgiving Day NFL: Gobble on the Bears vs Packers Game

We all have something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. But, if you’re not relishing the thought of arguing about politics at the table, perhaps making some money on one of Thursday’s NFL games might be just what you need. Keep reading to get picks on two NFL Thanksgiving games…

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Detroit Lions

  • When: Thursday, November 26, 2015 12:30 PM ET
  • Where: Ford Field
  • Eagles vs Lions Odds: EV
  • Total: 46

If you look at both of these team’s season, there’s no arguing that neither are having a stellar year. The Eagles recently got demolished by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Lions despite wining their last game have a 3-7 record.

Regardless, there is still an opportunity to make some money betting on this game because of how it plays up.

Philadelphia was horrid against the Bucs, being defeated 45-17, which included five touchdown passes and 235 allowed passing yards. But, all throughout the year, it’s been their offense that’s been unable to win games. Regardless if it’s Sam Bradford or Mark Sanchez at the quarterback position, they can’t seem to pull this offensive unit together.

Meanwhile, the Lions are showing signs of life in their last games, with impressive wins against the Packers and the Raiders. And, if you paid enough attention you probably realized it was due to an effective defensive effort, that allowed Matthew Stafford to run the offense.

Eagles vs Lions Free Prediction: Playing at home, the Lions have the upper hand in this game. Detroit’s defensive unit will wreak havoc on the Eagles’ offensive line and will make them pay big time. Take the Lions ATS.

Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers

  • When: Thursday, November 26, 2015 8:30 PM ET
  • Where: Lambeau Field
  • Bears vs Packers Odds: Green Bay -10
  • Total: 47.5

Whatever time you’re having dinner at, make sure to carve out a few hours to watch this game. It’s going to be an epic NFC showdown.

Chicago is on a desperate run to capture a wild card and they’ll do everything the can to topple the Packers, who have been slipping of late.

Yes, the Bears lost momentum by losing their last game against the Broncos by a heart breaking 17-15. Chicago has been riddled by injuries all season long, with backup players that are not up to snuff. However, Matt Forte will be back for their game against Green Bay and this could change the tide for them. They’re also getting back wideout Alshon Jeffery, which gives quarterback Jay Cutler more to work with and hopefully get the passing game going.

The Bears have a good defensive unit that is more than capable of stopping the Packers’ high-octane offense. Against the Broncos, the D managed to get to Brock Osweiler an impressive five times, and they need to do the same with Green Bays’ offensive line.

Green Bay had a few hiccups in their last three games previous to playing Minnesota, whom they simply tore apart on Sunday by a score of 30-13.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers still seemed sluggish, however the Packers’ running game came alive behind Eddie Lacy’s effort, who racked up 100 rushing yards on 22 carries. Green Bay’s defense also came together and sacked Minnesota’s QB five times.

Bears vs Packers Free Prediction: Green Bay will win, but will not cover. Take the Bears plus the points.
