Oakland Raiders vs Tennessee Titans

When: September 10, 2017, 1:00 PM ET

Where: Nissan Stadium

Spread: Titans -2.5

Over/Under: 50

Moneyline: Titans -140 vs Raiders +120

The Raiders had a great run last season that ended with 12-4 record and might have gone further if not for Derek Carr’s season-ending injury in the last game before the playoffs.

Carr’s injury was so determinant that the Raiders went on to lose to the Texans in the first round of the playoffs.

Without a doubt, with Carr back I have confidence the Raiders will have another successful season this year.

Also, with Marshawn Lynch back from retirement, I foresee a deep run into the playoffs on his heels.

Even if some skeptics believe Lynch is too old or rusty after a year without football, I think he won’t miss a beat.

Oakland’s fast-paced offense is very effective in reaching the end-zone. Carr has all sorts of options in his grab bag; he can choose  Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree to stretch the field and Lynch will move the chains via the ground attack.

Meanwhile, the Titans finished with a 9-7 record last year, which was second-best in the AFC South, but it wasn’t enough to make the playoffs.

Tennessee’s offensive line needs to hold up against Oakland’s defense which would give Marcus Mariota time to find open receivers. The Raiders were terrible in covering tight ends last year which means Delanie Walker might have an opening to do plenty of damage.

The Titans kept Mariota off the field as much as they could during the preseason, which sparked some to question how much his shoulder has healed. But, it’s likely they’ll turn to their ground attack using DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry to eat up the clock and keep the Raiders’ offense off the field.

Betting Trends For Raiders vs Titans

Oakland is 11-4 SU in its last 15 games

  • The total has gone OVER in 8 of Oakland's last 11 games
  • Oakland is 9-3 ATS in its last 12 games on the road
  • Tennessee is 7-16-1 ATS in its last 24 games
  • Tennessee is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 9 of Tennessee's last 13 games

ATS Pick: The Titans are the 2.5-point favorites. But, the smart ATS bet is on the Raiders; take Oakland plus the points.

Seattle Seahawks vs Green Bay Packers

When: September 10, 2017, 4:25 PM ET

Where: Lambeau Field

Spread: Packers -3

Over/Under: 51

Moneyline: Packers -160 vs Seahawks +140

What a battle to start the season! It can’t get better than to have two favorites to win the NFC settle things on the gridiron.

By their standards, the Seahawks had an awful campaign last year, even if they won the NFC West and went to the playoffs.

However, this year they improved their roster with the addition of Sheldon Richardson as their prime acquisition which means the defense will be back.

I cannot stress this enough, this game will come down to Seattle’s defense because of what the Packers now bring, namely tight end Martellus Bennett.

And, of course, as long as Aaron Rodgers leads the offense, the Packers are playoff contenders.

The Packers made it to the NFC Championship game last season and have their sights set on winning the Super Bowl this year.

It’s probably Aaron Rodgers last year, as he announced he’s retiring, so he’ll have to make it count but with Jordy Nelson, Aaron Cobb, and Martellus Bennett, Green Bay has one of the best offenses in the league.

Rodgers tends to have slow starts, but I expect him to hit the ground running this year. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me that he will throw near 300 yards in this game with at least a couple of touchdowns.

Green Bay has also added to its defense; over the offseason, they signed Ahmad Brooks who  should have an immediate impact against opponents.

Seahawks vs Packers Betting Trends

  • Seattle is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Seattle's last 7 games
  • Seattle is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games on the road
  • Green Bay is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games
  • Green Bay is 8-1 SU in its last 9 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Green Bay's last 5 games

ATS Pick: The Packers are the 3-point favorite heading into this game; however, Seattle’s defense has always given Rodgers problems so I’m going with the Seahawks at +3.

New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboy

When: September 10, 2017, 8:30 PM ET

Where: AT&T Stadium

Spread: Cowboys -4

Over/Under: 48.5

Moneyline: Patriots -465 vs Chiefs +390

After revamping their defense last year, the Giants made it to the playoffs. This year they should make a run for the division crown and perhaps the Super Bowl.

However, the Giants might have to do this without Odell Beckham Jr., who suffered an ankle injury in a preseason game that’s kept him off the practice fields.

New York’s defense will be pushed to its limits with Dallas’ explosive offense; even without Ezekiel Elliot, the Cowboys are very effective in moving the ball forward despite what Ben McAdoo thinks:

“All backs run the same when there is nowhere to run,” McAdoo said. “So, our goal is to do our job and be prepared to stop the run and if he’s playing, great; if he’s not, then that’s great.”

Dallas will have to do without their best offensive player for six games; though Elliot will play in this game, he starts his suspension after and this puts a big dent in Dallas’ plans.

Quarterback Dak Prescott should be able to mount a good attack nevertheless; he and No. 1 receiver Dez Bryant will likely have another great season. Prescott also has a couple of additional targets in Cole Beasley and tight end Jason Witten.

Betting Trends for Giants vs Cowboys

  • NY Giants is 8-4 ATS in its last 12 games
  • NY Giants is 9-3 SU in its last 12 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 7 of NY Giants' last 9 games
  • Dallas is 1-6 ATS in its last 7 games
  • Dallas is 13-3 SU in its last 16 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Dallas's last 6 games

ATS Pick: The Cowboys are the 4-point favorites; these two have played in the season opener for the past two season with a win a piece. The games have been decided by a point, so the smart bet is Giants +4.
