Los Angeles appeared to be heading in the right direction the last time it faced the Tulsa Shock. The Sparks, though, have fallen fast since that matchup.

Los Angeles looks to snap its longest home losing streak in four seasons Tuesday night when it takes on the Shock, who will try to end a franchise-worst 14-game skid with their first road win in more than a year.

Kristi Toliver scored 25 points and DeLisha Milton-Jones had 18 as the Sparks (7-13) improved to 2-0 under Joe Bryant with a 79-74 victory at Tulsa on July 15.

That was Los Angeles’ fifth consecutive victory in the series, but the Sparks have gone 1-7 since.

They’ve lost three in a row after falling to 0-2 on a season-high six-game homestand with an 84-78 defeat to Minnesota on Sunday. The club is 3-10 since star Candace Parker suffered a torn lateral meniscus in her right knee June 26.

Los Angeles’ four-game home losing streak is its longest since a team-worst 0-8 skid June 29-Aug. 9, 2007. The Sparks, though, still have time to make a run at a fourth straight postseason berth - especially with four games remaining against the Shock (1-19).

Making its first of three visits to Los Angeles, Tulsa will try to snap a four-game skid at Staples Center after setting a franchise record for consecutive losses Saturday. The Shock fell 72-64 to San Antonio after turning the ball over 26 times.

The Shock, 0-9 since Edwards took over for Nolan Richardson, have lost 18 straight on the road since a 75-70 victory over the Silver Stars on July 16, 2010. Los Angeles has won eight of nine over the Tulsa franchise.

This game will be interesting to watch as two struggling franchises look for some consistency and hope to get a victory.
