Sunday Night Football: Packers vs. Cowboys

Sunday Night Football: Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys
Two proud and historic franchises heading in different directions meet on Sunday Night Football. The Green Bay Packers play host to the Dallas Cowboys in what should have been a pivotal game in the NFC. The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Skybook have the Green Bay Packers listed as 7.5 point favorites in this contest. While both teams always seemed primed to make a run for a Super bowl ring, this season has provided two different outcomes up to this point.
For the Dallas Cowboys, they started the season with hopes of becoming the first team to ever play a Super bowl on their home field. Those dreams were quickly dashed when they managed to lose game after game in an ugly fashion.
Now entering week nine, the Cowboys have just one victory on the season over the Houston Texans and will have to play the rest of the season with starting quarterback Tony Romo. Jon Kitna has come in to be the new starter and the results have been disastrous. Kitna tossed four interceptions on the way to a 35-17 brutal home loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team gave up and looked lifeless in the second half.
Now if the Cowboys want to salvage the season or any pride they need to win against one of the best teams in the NFC, the Green bay Packers.
Life for the Packers has not been as easy as they had hoped when the season first started. The Packers have spent the entire year decimated by injuries and have yet to field a fully healthy team. Two starters cornerback Al Harris and safety Atari Bigby have spent the first eight weeks of the season on the physically unable to perform list (PUP). Ten players are on the injured reserve list this season and every week seems to bring a new injury to the Packers sideline.
The Packers have been able to overcome these injuries with tremendous depth and talent at nearly every position. From the secondary, to linebackers, to tight end and the offensive line, the Packers are the most injured team in the NFL.
The Packers have responded with five wins and they currently sit atop the NFC North. In week eight they stunned the New York Jets by beating them with defense, as they did not allow a point in the 9-0 victory leading to an impressive road win. Now they return home brimming with confidence to take on the Dallas Cowboys.
This game is surrounded with many questions. Will the Packers still play at a high level against the Cowboys with more injures mounting? Will the Cowboys try this week or just mail it in on the season?
Tune into Sunday Night Football and find out!
