Chelsea vs Paris SG

  • Time: Tuesday, February 16, 2016 2:45 PM ET

Betting on Chelsea

The reigning Premier league champions, and twice UEFA league winners, continue in the hunt for their third crown.

The road ahead is tough for the Blues, as they head on the road to Parc des Princes, to face the French champions, Paris Saint Germain. The British team has some momentum on their side though, having defeated Newcastle 5-1 and climbing up the ranks to the 12th spot in the Premier league.  Willian, Diego Costa, Pedro and Traore will have their work cut out for them in having to defeat the Parisian team on their home pitch.

After having fired head coach Jose Mourinho, the Blues have found their flow, winning all 12 games under new head coach Guus Hiddink. However, it remains to be seen if they can defeat PSG, since they were knocked out last year by this same team when Thiago Silva scored a header in extra time.

Betting on PSG

Paris Saint-Germain finds itself in a pretty pickle, after defender Serge Aurier being suspended following alleged insults to Laurent Blanc and star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Aurier is key to PSG’s defense, one that hasn’t allowed more than 12 goals in Ligue 1 this season. It’s still unknown if Aurier will be fired, an action which might put a dent in PSG’s ability to defend against Chelsea.

Regardless, PSG should be able to rely on their offensive wares; they lead Ligue 1 with 22 wins and only 4 draws this year.

Free Pick: PSG wins 2-1.

Zenit Petersburg vs Benfica

Time: Tuesday, February 16, 2016 2:45 PM ET

Betting On Zenit

It was hard to imagine Zenit making this far in the competition. However, the Russian team have earned their way to the knockout stage after winning all of their first five games during the group stage.

Though in their games against Valencia and Lyon, their competitors were having problems of their own, it still doesn’t take away merit from having made it this far.

With the talensts of Brazilian superstar Hulk, former Benfica player Axel Witsel, and striker Artem Zzyuba, this team can still make it far into the competition and possibly move ahead.

Betting on Benfica

Benfica suffered a blow after losing 2-1 against league rivals Porto on Friday. The Eagles nevertheless were unbeaten in their last 10 games prior to the loss against Porto.

You also have to consider that they’re playing on their home pitch at the Estadio da Luz, a factor that helps any team. With the abilities of attackers Nicolas Gaitan, Jonas, and Kostas Mitroglou, this team is a big threat to any team that wishes to defeat them at home.

Free Pick: Benfica should win at home 1-0.
