Tennessee Titans (2-12) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-12), Thursday, December 18, 8:30 PM. ET. NFL.

The Titans have lost eight straight games, and 12 of their last 14 games, but they played well in their game against the New York Jets on Sunday, which should give them a little confidence going into this game. Unfortunately for them, they lost their two best quarterbacks and will turn to third-stringer Charlie Whitehurst, in this game. Interestingly enough, Whitehurst was the starter the last time the Titans won a game, and the win came against the Jaguars.

The Jaguars have lost their last two games, but have played better than the Titans lately, winning two of their last eight games. They also played well on the road last week against the Baltimore Ravens, so they should also feel good about their chances in this game. Rookie quarterback Blake Bortles has had some ups and downs this season, which is to be expected of a rookie, but he played well in the first meeting against the Titans, throwing for over 300 yards in that game. The team will be hoping to get a similar performance from him, but they will also expect him to take better care of the ball this time around.

The Titans' running game suffered a lot this season, because they got rid of Chris Johnson in the off-season, and haven't been able to get any consistency at the position this year, which is why they are ranked 27th in rushing yards this season. They also don't have any reliable wide receivers, and are led in receptions and receiving yards by their tight end, which is a big reason, all their quarterbacks have struggled this season. They are hoping that wide receiver Kendall Wright, who has missed the past two games, will be able to play this week, which will give Whitehurst another reliable target to throw to.

The Jaguars have also had problems running the ball this season, which is why Blake Bortles is their second-leading rusher this season, but they will try to take advantage of the Titans run defense, which is dead last in the NFL this year, because it will allow them to control the clock, and keep the defense guessing, instead of rushing the passer every time they snap the ball. If they can run the ball successfully, Blake Bortles should be able to move the ball effectively through the air, because Tennessee has the 21st ranked pass defense, and have given up some big plays through the air this season.

Game Line: The Jaguars are favored to win this game by 3 points, the Over/Under is 40.5 points.

Personal Pick: Blake Bortles will lead the Jaguars to their second win in four games, and snap Jacksonville's two-game losing streaks to the Titans.
