New England Patriots vs. New York Giants

  • When: Sunday, November 15, 2015 4:25 PM ET
  • Where: MetLife Stadium
  • Line: New England Patriots -8
  • Total: 55

The 8-0 New England Patriots don’t need much motivation to do their job. Having demolished the Washington Redskins to the tune of 27-10 in their last game, Tom Brady and his offensive squad are firing on all cylinders, they are now averaging 34.5 points per game this season, which puts them atop in the league in PPG. Brady torched the Redskins, completing 26 of 39 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns.

Most likely, it’ll be Brady going to his passing game to exploit New York’s weak secondary unit that is allowing 315.4 passing yards per game. Receiver Julian Edelman was Brady’s target of choice, putting up 55 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for the Giants, they picked up some momentum in beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 32-16. This gives them a 5-4 record, and keeps them atop the NFC East.

New York seems to have addressed  their defensive issues and held the Buccaneers to only 385 total yards. They will need however a better performance if they hope to keep Rodgers from gaining the big plays. Now, given a weak secondary, it’s something that they might no be able to do.

Manning will also need to perform much better in scoring points, and perhaps controlling the the clock. Manning completed 26 of his 40 passes for 213 yards, two scores and two interceptions against the Bucs.

However, for the Giants, much of winning this game will be on the defense’s shoulders. If they cannot hold back the Patriots passing game, they will be in hot water.

Betting Trends:

  • New England is 5-1-1 ATS in its last 7 games
  • New England is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games on the road
  • New England is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
  • NY Giants is 5-2 SU in its last 7 games
  • NY Giants is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games at home
  • NY Giants is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games when playing New England

Game Preview and Free Pick: The Patriots will win this game. Brady will go to his passing game and get some big plays.  However, the Giants’ secondary will come alive and keep New England from scoring too many points, enough to not covering the spread. New England is just 1-6 ATS in its last 7 games when playing the Giants. We don’t think they’ll be able to cover the spread this time around and you should take the Giants at +8.
