Let’s take a look at three upcoming games in week 3 and our predictions based on what we’ve seen so far:
Houston Texans vs. New Orleans Saints
Saints’ fans got to watch their beloved Drew Brees take the field in his first preseason appearance, albeit the team’s second loss, this time against the New England Patriots 26-24.
Their go-to QB had a solid performance, completing all but two of his 10 passes for a total of 159 yards and two touchdowns.
It looks like the Saints will be looking to rely on their passing game come regular season, regardless of Jimmy Graham’s trade, with much of the responsibility falling to second-year wide receiver Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston.
The Texans are still having to sort out issues with their QBs, as both Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett did not look up to snuff in their week 2 game against the Broncos.
If head coach Gary Kubiak cannot figure out who will be their starting quarterback come regular season, it will likely spell disaster for the team.
Our prediction: Saints ATS -3.5
Minnesota Vikings vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Vikings are having an impressive run so far. Their latest win coming against the Oakland Raiders last Saturday. QB Teddy Bridgewater put up major numbers, going 10 of 14 for 89 passing yards with a 10 yard TD that connected with Charles Johnson.
As far as the Dallas Cowboys is concerned, it doesn’t seem like they’re too inspired that football is back, if their performance so far is any measure of what’s to come.
Their recent 23-6 loss against the 49ers found them unable to reach the end zone on Sunday and it stretched their streak to 0-2.
Though it’s too early to tell what will happen in the regular season, any wins represent a morale boost that go a long way.
Our Prediction: Dallas will go 0-3, our money is on the Vikings SU.
Tennessee Titans vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Zach Mettenberger’s passing of the torch over to Marcus Mariota may still have a ways to go. Mettenberger has shown his grit and was instrumental in the Titan’s 27-14 over the St. Louis Rams. Mariota meanwhile, passed for 59 yards completing 7 of 8.
The Kansas City Chiefs put up their own fight for the win against the reigning champs, Seattle Seahawks, barely edging it out 14-13.
Despite a patchy offensive line, the Chiefs managed to block the heavy hitting Seahawks’ defensive unit, allowing only two sacks in total.
Our prediction: Our money is on the Titans ATS at +5.
