Betting on the Redskins
The Redskins did away with the feisty Oakland Raiders in Week 3 and picked up some more steam for this game.
Behind a solid defensive effort, Washington also gained some confidence to hopefully stop the Chiefs offense which will be even tougher.
All in all, the Redskins defense had gone to work on Derek Carr, hitting him six time and sacking him on four opportunities. They also kept Oakland’s running backs under a lid to only 13 runs for 32 yards.
The Redskins will need another stellar effort from their D in tonight’s game to stop the only undefeated team in the AFC West.
While Washington was solid in stopping Marshawn Lynch and forcing Derek Carr to turn to the passing game, Kansas City’s offense is a different animal.
Chiefs’ running back Kareem Hunt has already acquired 401 rushing yards and six touchdowns in three games and he’ll likely have at least one big play which opens up the playbook for quarterback Alex Smith.
Nevertheless, heading into this week the Redskins defense is ranked 12th in the NFL in pass defense (209.7 yards allowed per game) with eight sacks (also 12th) and second in the league against the run giving up just 62.3 yards per game.
Washington’s offense is also holding its own.
Kirk Cousins earned his keep against the Raiders, connecting on 25 of his 30 throws for 365 yards and three TDs, while only being sacked once.
Running back Chris Thompson ran for 188 yards and scored one touchdown, while veteran tight end Vernon Davis ran for 58 yards and received one touchdown pass as a replacement for the injured Jordan Reed.

Kansas City Chiefs Betting
After a win over the Los Angeles Chargers, 24-10, the Chiefs are now the only undefeated team in the AFC West.
The triple threat combo of quarterback Alex Smith, running back Kareem Hunt, and wide receiver Tyreek Hill, has proved to be the Chiefs’ deadliest weapon.
Smith went 16-for-21 for 155 yards and two TDs while Hill brought in five catches for 77 yards and one touchdown and Hunt ran for 172 yards on the ground on 10.2 yards per carry, with with one rushing score to his name.
The Chiefs didn’t even have too much of a need for star tight end Travis Kelce, who only caught one pass for one yard on one target.
Nevertheless, this will be a difficult match because the tough-as-nails Redskins defense.
The key will be to get going on first and second down, even if Hunt is contained.
Smith must find a way to keep Washington’s front seven on their toes with play action.
Though it’s unlikely the Chiefs will go 0-11 on third down, as the Raiders did, they have to avoid third and long to dominate the game from the get-go.
The Chiefs defense is also doing its job. Against Chargers QB Phillip Rivers, they managed three interceptions and two sacks.
Linebacker Justin Houston was solid, picking up one sack, one tackle for a loss, two PDs, and two hits on Rivers.
Though the spread might not reflect it, these two squads are evenly matched which makes this game extra interesting.
