North Carolina Tar Heels vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish

  • Time: Saturday, February 06, 2016 7:00 PM ET
  • Place: Joyce Center

Two heavy hitters go on the court, as the No. 2 Tar Heels hit the road to face the Fighting Irish.

Bet on the Tar Heels

The Tar Heels are coming off a tough loss on the road to Louisville. And, this road will not get much easier against the Irish playing on their home court. Though they are one of the best teams in the country at this time, ranking eight in the nation in scoring with 84.9 points per game and third on two point jump shots with 45.3 percent, Carolina struggles with three-point shots, where they only complete 30 percent from behind the line.

Bet on the Fighting Irish

The Fighting Irish have a shot of being at the top of the ACC standings the way they’ve been playing. However, much of it depends on how point guard, and NBA candidate, Demetrius Jackson keeps on performing; when Jackson is on the floor the Irish are a threat on offense, take Jackson off and there’s not much bite to them. Another notable is sophomore Bonzie Colson who contributed with 31 points and 11 rebounds in their win against Duke on January 16.

Free Pick: North Carolina.

Purdue Boilermakers vs Maryland Terrapins

  • Time: Saturday, February 06, 2016 4:00 PM ET
  • Place: Xfinity Center

In another great game of the Big Ten, the Terrapins get ready to host the Boilermakers pitting on the most deadly offenses against one of the best defenses.

Bet on the Boilermakers

Though the Boilermakers had a great start, going 11-0 at the beginning of the season, they’ve now dropped to 8-4 in their last 12 games.

Purdue is ranked eighth in the nation under Ken Pomeroy’s defensive strategy and are among the top five in field goal defense and defensive rebounding. It’s behind this defense that they’ll hope to stop Maryland and make them work for every basket.

Bet on the Terrapins

The Terrapins made had a huge leap in beating the then unbeaten Iowa on January 28, which inched them forward to the Big Ten title.

The Terrapins are a well balanced team, that meshes experience with young blood, and are able to efficiently win games. Duke transfer Rasheed Sulaimon had a good contribution in the win over Iowa scoring 17 points and five assists in that game. Meanwhile, freshman Diamond Stone continues to get better, nearly scoring a triple double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocks in Maryland's win at Nebraska.

Free Pick: Take Maryland, not only are they the better team on paper, they’ll also be playing at home.
