About Selection Sunday, The Big Dance, and This Year’s Pool

It’s about that time of year again, where basketball betting fans get all jumpy in anticipation of the greatest college basketball tournament in the Nation. Just that little event called March Madness.

And, the cogs get going this Sunday, when the NCAA  Selection Committee seeds all 68 teams competing in the tournament.

Now, we’re trying to spare you the effort of understanding what exactly the Committee does to come up with the tournament field. Partly because it’s way too complicated to explain and also because do you really need to know it or would you just rather know the brackets to get into this year’s pool? Regardless, here’s a great article just in case you’re one of those fellas that do want to know.

For the rest of us, what is important to know is that this week will determine, to a point, which teams get invited to the big dance. The conference championships have a lot to do on whether or not bubble teams make it or go home. And, of course, the winners get an automatic pass to play in tournament.

If you’ve followed the regular season this year, perhaps you know that it’s playing out to set up one of the best national tournaments in recent history. With no clear favorites, it’s going to be very exciting to watch teams duke it on the road to the Final Four.

Even major sports sites have had a hard time determine the likely No. 1 seeds. Bleacher Report has Villanova, Virginia, Kansas and North Carolina; while ESPN’s Bracketology has Maryland, North Carolina, Kansas and Kentucky. It’s hard to call, but you may agree it’s going to be a great competition.

This tournament has been sending people into a frenzy ever since No. 16 Princeton defeated No.1 Georgetown back in 1989. From that point forward, it’s turned into a national obsession, with sportsbooks everywhere dancing to the tune of millions of dollars bet on the games.

Speaking of which, if you think you’ve honed your college basketball chops, you might be interested in winning a Samsung 65” Curved Panel TV or a $1,200.00 Cash Bonus. In which case you’d also be interested in joining our March Madness Sweet 16 Bracket Contest right now:

Just saying…

With only a few days left up until Sunday and for the big dance to get going, you can expect bubble teams to be putting up all they’ve got to make it. The championships are already under way and many results are in, all we have to do is wait for the Committee to do its thing…
