Bet on the Cavaliers

After Game 1, there shouldn’t be any doubts that LeBron James has one goal: That the Cavaliers are one of teams in the 2017 NBA Finals. And, with the way he’s playing at the moment, it’s not hard to believe him.

James finished the game scoring 38 points on 14 of 24 shooting from the field and no matter who the Celtics put on him, he wouldn’t be stopped. And, there’s no indication that he’s about ready to slow down. This postseason, James is averaging 34 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists per game. He’s also shooting above 55 percent from the field which is boggling his defenders.

He’s also clearly the spark that fires up his teammates. Kevin Love also added 32 points in Game 1, while Tristan Thompson contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds of his own. Kyrie Irving only put up 11 but he wasn’t needed much for the Cavaliers to win.

Bet on the Celtics

Were you one of the people that had hopes that Kelly Olynyk might turn into a Larry Bird after he scored 26 points in his previous to last game? I guess that castle came crashing down after he only managed two points in Game 1 of this series.

But, to be fair Olynyk wasn’t the only one who played horribly. Pretty much the entire team was shell shocked by James’ performance. Even Isaiah Thomas, who scored 17 points, wasn’t even close to giving the Celtics what they need in order to stay in competition against this Cavaliers team.

If the Celtics want to put up a fight, players such as Al Horford and Avery Bradley need to kick it up ten notches. Though Bradley scored 21 points, as did Jae Crowder, it’s going to take much more than that to not think they’ll be heading home early.

Game 3 takes place in Boston, where they might do better with their home crowd behind them. But, considering the Celtics are only 1-5 SU in its last 6 games when playing at home against Cleveland, I wouldn’t have too much hope that Boston wins.

Trends

●    Boston is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games at home
●    Boston is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games at home
●    The total has gone OVER in 5 of Boston's last 5 games at home
●    Cleveland is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games when playing Boston
●    The total has gone OVER in 4 of Cleveland's last 6 games when playing Boston
●    The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Cleveland's last 15 games when playing Boston

Pick: Cleveland runs away with another win.
