Bet on the Warriors

The Warriors had to fight tooth and claw to win game five but it paid off and they’ve now extended the series to one more game.

As expected, the reigning league MVP, Stephen Curry, stepped up and put up a total of 31 points, seven boards and six dimes to his name, which although not spectacular was enough to earn his team a victory. Curry however still seems to be struggling to protect the ball and has been careless over the last few games. In game 5, he turned the rock over five times.

There’s still a question on whether or not Curry’s knee injury may be keeping him from playing at full force. Head coach Steve Kerr’s words after the game, saying that Curry “looked like 91 percent,” leave a lot of room for interpretation. Regardless, Curry will need to suck it up one more time and do his best to lead his team to victory.

Of course, the burden need not fall solely on Curry’s shoulders. Klay Thompson can also bring his own and, in fact, did so in game five, scoring 27 points. As for the rest of the bench, Andre Iguodala, Marreese Speights and Andrew Bogut performed well and they’ll need to continue playing like this if they’re to be successful tonight. Also, Draymond Green seemed to have taken to heart Kobe Bryant’s words of encouragement, adding 11 points, 13 boards, four dimes and just as many blocks.

Bet on the Thunder

Even if the Thunder was not able to clinch the Western Conference title, they’re now headed back home where they’ve dominated the Warriors so far.

Once again Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook gave one heck of a fight and wreaked havoc on Golden State’s defenders all night long. Durant put up 40 points, that included 13 out of 13 free throws, while Westbrook added his own 31 points, seven boards and eight dimes.

However, as expected, Oracle Arena was not welcoming to the Thunder and perhaps some of the Oklahoma City’s players were taken aback from the hostile environment. Now that they’re back on their home court however, the story could be extremely different.

If players such as Andre Roberson and Dion Waiters can get back to playing well, it should tip the scales even further in the Thunder’s favor. Once fired up, OKC’s bench can put up many points.

Game Predictions: It looks like it’s the end of the road for the Warriors. Despite what a lot of folks are wishing, the Thunder takes care of business tonight.
