H3 Betting on the Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are 4-2, and find themselves tied with the Buffalo Bills for second place in the AFC East, one game behind the New England Patriots, who lead the division.

Miami’s backup quarterback, Matt Moore will be making his first start of the season, filling in for an injured Jay Cutler, who left the Dolphins’ game against the New York Jets with a rib injury.

Moore, who led the team to a comeback win over the New York Jets last week after Cutler left the game, will be trying to prove to the Miami coaches that he deserves to be the team’s starter for the rest of the season.

The fact that the Dolphins are 4-2 is one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season because the team averages 15.3 points per game, which is the second worst point average in the league this season.

The fact that their defense is allowing 18.7 points per game means the team should have a losing record, but they have found ways to keep winning games.

The Dolphins have won their last three games, and will be going for their fourth consecutive win against a Baltimore team that hasn’t lived up to expectations this season.

The Dolphins rallied to a come-from-behind win over the Jets last week. Miami scored the game's final 17 points, winning it on defensive back Bobby McCain's interception and Cody Parkey's 39-yard field goal in the final minute. On the day, Miami outgained the Jets 357-272 and held a 32-28 time of possession advantage.

Betting on the Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens came into the season with playoff aspirations, but at this point, they are just hoping they can finish the season at .500 or above.

One of the biggest reasons the Ravens have struggled this year is the fact that they have 16 players in the injured reserve, which includes 10 of their 22 starters.

After a 2-0 start to the season, the Ravens have lost four of their last five games and two in a row. Despite their slump, the Ravens are still 3-4 and in second place in the AFC North.

The Ravens first lost in overtime to Chicago and last week to the Vikings, 24-16.

A couple of weeks ago, Baltimore almost won against the Bears, forcing the game into overtime but falling short when the Bears scored a late overtime field goal.

Baltimore was tied 6-6 in the second quarter against the Vikings, but was unable to get anything going from then on due to Minnesota’s tough defense.

Baltimore’s offense has been slightly better than Miami’s this season, averaging 18.6 points per game, which is 23rd in the league.

Their running game in particular has been very effective and the team is averaging 120 rushing yards per game, which is 12th in the league.

However, Baltimore’s passing game hasn’t been very good, with the team averaging 157.4 yards per game.

At this time, the Ravens lack any playmakers on offense. Not Mike Wallace, Breshad Perriman nor Jeremy Maclin have been able to catch passes consistently which puts additional pressure on quarterback Joe Flacco to find alternatives and have resulted in horrid average yards per catch.

Flacco hasn't been very consistent this year, but he can’t shoulder all the blame considering the Ravens haven’t had healthy receivers all season, and Flacco has been forced to play with guys who won’t start on other teams.

Defensively, the Ravens have been pretty decent, allowing 21 points per game, which is 13th best in the league. But if the offense can’t buy the defense some time to rest against the Dolphins, they will be in for a long day.
