Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Time: Sunday, November 01, 2015 1:00 PM ET

Place: Heinz Field

Line: Even

Total: 48 points

It’s hard to see the Steelers as the underdogs in Heinz Field. But, with the way the Cincinnati Bengals are playing, whatever advantage a team has at home is practically nullified.

Quarterback Andy Dalton and the offense have been fantastic and have pretty much done away with opposing defenses, including wins that had fans pulling their hair out and screaming for more (remember Seattle back in Week 5?).

Regardless that the Bengals trail the Steelers in SU losses with a record of 2-6, this time around things are different. Cincinnati comes into this game well-rested after having a week off and they’re playing extremely well on both sides of the ball.

The offensive line has been able to provide Andy Dalton with more than adequate protection, to allow him to do major damage, put up big plays, and gain passing yards. However, you also need to consider that Ben Roethlisberger is back for the Steelers, so it’ll be a real test for the defense to see if they can stop Big Ben.

Without a question, Pittsburgh is ecstatic that their star quarterback is back; with Michael Vick and Landry Jones not being up to snuff, surely they’ll be counting on Roethlisberger to fire up their offense and start putting up points and making big plays. He’ll certainly be looking to connect with Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, and Martavis Brown to gain yards and keep the Bengals’ defense busy all day long.

Hopefully, the Steelers’ defense will be firing on all cylinders. In their game against the Chiefs, they weren’t exactly performing as expected and this will definitely not fly against the high-caliber Bengals’ offense led by Dalton. They need to be especially careful with Cincinnati's passing game, as their run defense is second to none and they can stop their opponents running game very effectively.

Betting Trends:

  • Pittsburgh is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games
  • Pittsburgh is 7-2-1 ATS in its last 10 games at home
  • Pittsburgh is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games when playing Cincinnati
  • Cincinnati is 5-0-1 ATS in its last 6 games
  • Cincinnati is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games on the road
  • Cincinnati is 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games when playing Pittsburgh

Game Analysis and Prediction: Roethlisberger’s return bodes well for the Steelers and they’ll undoubtedly be able to put up many more points on the scoreboard. Playing in front of the home crowd will also be a factor that helps their motivation and fans will be expecting and rooting for the win. However, if Andy Dalton fires up his offense, there’s not much the defense will be able to do to prevent him from scoring points. It’s a tough one to call, but we expect the Bengals to win. Take Cincinnati ATS.
