Miami Dolphins vs Cincinnati Bengals

  • Time: Thursday, September 29, 2016 8:25 PM ET
  • Place: Paul Brown Stadium
  • Betting Line: Bengals -7
  • Total: 44.5

Bet on the Dolphins

The Dolphins won their last game against the Cleveland Browns which gave them some momentum for their next opponent the Cincinnati Bengals. However, the win against the Browns also showed some inconsistencies with Miami’s performance; considering that the Dolphins needed to go into overtime to win and that the Browns were starting a rookie quarterback while on the road, Miami’s win is nothing to boast about.

Also, quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a decent performance on paper, completing 64% of his passes for 319 yards, three touchdowns and two picks but was in general not impressive. However, Tannehill might benefit from Cincinnati’s weak secondary that was lit up by Broncos’ quarterback Trevor Siemian for 312 passing yards and four touchdowns. Wide receivers Kenny Still and DeVante Parker seem like Tannehill’s likely targets of choice.

On defense, the Dolphins have some adjustments to make. Though they started out well in their season-opener against the Seahawks they’ve since declined performance and have allowed 446 total yards over the past two games.

Bet on the Bengals

Having ended the 2015 season with a 12-4 record, the Bengals had high-hopes of keeping the ball rolling along; however, their start this season leaves much to be desired as their most recent loss at home to the Broncos goes to show.

Granted, the Bengals had a tough schedule for the first games of the regular season and the Jets, Steelers, and Broncos are tough-as-nails defensives teams so the Bengals might be primed to finally start winning more games. Miami is not as strong defensively as any other of the teams mentioned above which also gives the Bengals a little more wiggle room to establish their offensive game. With running back Jeremy Hill, the Bengals could exploit Miami’s weak defense against the run; Hill torched the Broncos with 97 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns to his name.

Cincy could also turn to the air attack with A.J. Green trying to find holes in the relatively weak Dolphins’ secondary. Green stuck the Jets with 180 yards on 12 catches.
