St. Louis Rams

The Rams have been on a teeter totter this season. In week 1, they crushed the Seattle Seahawks for a huge win that surprised even the most hard-nosed skeptics. The following week however, they dropped their game against the Redskins, and continued this slide against the Steelers.

This kind of inconsistent play is what kills a team’s hopes of making it to the playoffs. And, it won’t be suffered in the NFL. They’ve specially been struggling in their running game, with players like Tre Mason not performing as was expected of him this season. Nor have other players like Todd Gurley come in and made any difference so far that can be seen.

This makes quarterback Nick Foles’ job a whole lot more difficult, because his passing game doesn’t compensate this weakness. Apart from that their defense, although sturdy, is not playing at the level expected from them and they could struggle while on the road in this game.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are most likely trying to stay healthy, as they know how injuries can cripple their hopes of making it all the way. Last season their Championship aspirations were thwarted by injuries and it’s something they want to stay away from this year.

To this point, QB Carson Palmer just goes to prove how the Cardinals can rack up yards and points if they’re firing on all cylinders. Palmer has thrown for 803 yards, 9 touchdowns and only 1 interception. He’s also managed to connect with receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who accounts for 333 receiving yards and 5 TDs in only 3 games. Chris Johnson has also accounted for the strong offensive performance, putting up 110 yards and 2 TDs against San Francisco.

Having done away with the San Francisco 49ers last week, the Cardinals have won their first division game of the season, and with a win against the Rams it would put them on the road towards the playoffs. They should be able to win their division if they 49ers and Seahawks keep on struggling as they have this year.

Game Line: The Cardinals are favorite to win by 7.5 points; the total is currently at 42.5.

Prediction and Pick:

Although the Rams’ defensive unit has the tools to slow down the Cardinals offense, it’s unlikely that they will while on the road. Carson Palmer and the Cardinals’ offense will most likely capitalize that they’re playing at home and manage to win the game.

Best Bet: It’s going to be on the Cardinals at 7.5 points. What are your thoughts on this game?
