New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills

  • Time: Thursday, September 15, 2016 8:25 PM ET
  • Place: Ralph Wilson Stadium
  • Betting Line: Bills -2.5
  • Total: 41.5

Bet on the Jets

The Jets’ rally late in the fourth quarter of their game against the Bengals to take the lead with just over six minutes left in the clock, was answered by a Cincinnati rally of their own that took them to within striking distance for kicker Mike Nugent to rain on the Jets’ parade and score the game winning field goal with just six seconds left on the clock.

The Jets struggled against the Bengals, especially the secondary unit which had gaping holes in coverage that allowed AJ Green to catch 10 passes for 152 yards when covered by Darrelle Davis.

New York also was misfiring on offense; quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was off-target, completing only 19 of 35 passes for 189 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Further, it wasn’t so much that they Jets didn’t have scoring opportunities, they had plenty, but that they were unable to convert in the red zone.

Bet on the Bills

The Bills meanwhile were also defeated in their game against the Baltimore Ravens that ended with a score of 13-7. Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco gunned for 258 yards and one touchdown and the Bills defense had not to answer for.

Buffalo struggled on offense, unable to move the chains and finishing with only 160 total yards in the loss against Baltimore, and though one would like to give credit to the Ravens’ defense, this was the same team that gave up 401 points last year.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor was ineffective in that game; all in all, Taylor only managed to complete 15 of 22 passes with no touchdowns. He seemingly was unable to connect with his receivers and players like Sammy Watkins, to name one, were just plain ineffective.

The Bills though have a good opportunity to win against the Jets. They’ve won the last five games which included last year’s game that knocked the Jets out of participating in the playoffs which might mean they have New York’s ticket.
