Should you bet on the Packers?
There’s no time for the Packers to wallow in defeat, not when their playoff hopes are at stake. Green Bay cannot afford to lose focus even after being mercilessly overcome by the Washington Redskins on Sunday, 42-24 (their fourth straight). The Packers are now two games behind Detroit and the Vikings for the top spot in the NFC East.
The onus is on Aaron Rodgers to once again step up and lead the offense in the search for a win. A MUST win. Rodgers had a fantastic performance against the Redskins, ending with 355 passing yards along with three touchdowns.
However, Green Bay’s defense should be shot, for if it’s not dead already, it’s dying for all the good it is doing. The defense gave up an incredible 515 yards to Washington and this is to go along the 153 points they given up in the span of the four games they’ve lost.
Should you bet on the Eagles?
The Eagles received a learning lesson that it’s tough to play against a top-notch defense. The Seahawks schooled Carson Wentz and the Eagles’ offense and completely shut them down. Wentz only completed 23 of 45 passes for 218 yards, two touchdowns, and just as many interceptions.
However, Wentz should be licking his chops at going up against the Packers’ weak defense and should be able to inflict plenty of damage through the air. The passing game will be critical for the Eagles as two of their running backs, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles, are now on the injured list.
The Eagles also have the home field advantage; Philadelphia is a perfect 5-0 at home this season and 5-1 SU and ATS in its last six MNF games, you have to like those trends.
