Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints

The Falcons are on a 5-0 roll this year, with a win against the Washington Redskins in overtime last week. Although quarterback Matt Ryan hasn’t been all that outstanding, he has managed to lead the offense to victories.
Most Atlanta’s success has been due to a strong running game behind a stellar performance by running back Devonta Freeman, who has averaged an incredible 180 yards from the scrimmage line for a total of seven touchdowns. Just recently against Washington, he racked up 153 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Atlanta has also done its job on the defensive end. Forcing the Redskins to turn the ball over twice and limiting them to a mere 270 yards in total on offense.
What all of this means is simple: Disaster for an ailing New Orleans Saints, who have not been able to come together at all this year and barely were able to snatch a lonely win to their record. This includes a recent loss to the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 39-17. Yes, that’s the same Eagles who were unable to score at all for the first four weeks of the season.
The Saints can’t seem to get their offensive ducks in a row, only being able to scratch up a measly 20 points per game throughout their last five. Even quarterback Drew Brees, one of the League’s elite, seems to be trudging along unable to rouse the troops and committing costly mistakes such as turning the ball over to the Eagles three time in the second half of that game.
The Saints’ greatest Achilles heel is their defense, who are letting opponents run all over them and ranking last in DVOA. Just against the Eagles, they gave up an incredible 519 total yards, which means they don’t have a prayer against Freeman who will likely be unstoppable for the Falcons in this game.
Falcons vs Saints Game Prediction: New Orleans are looking more like the Aints of the past than the Champs of yesteryears and it’s unlikely they’ll be able to pull a win on Thursday even if they are playing at the Superdome in front of their home crowd.
