The first week in pro football left many of us wondering if the preseason was over, judging by the awful performance some teams had. Though watching the Bills upset the Colts was great to watch.

In any case, week 2 kicks off on Thursday night with the Denver Broncos heading to Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Kansas City Chiefs. Let’s get started with our NFL weekly picks in that game:

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs

What is going on with Peyton Manning? Many analysts are questioning if this will be his last season, judging by his declining performance, his most recent against the Baltimore Ravens where he wasn’t able to score an offensive touchdown.

The Chiefs are so far the 3-point favorite and this might be the game where they snap their 6 game losing streak against the Broncos.

Though Manning is undoubtedly an elite quarterback, and that he usually gives stellar performances when his back is against the wall, I believe he’ll still struggle in this game.

My betting pick: I’m siding with the Chiefs at -3.

Next…

San Diego Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals

Both of these teams got off to a good start and won their season openers. Though it’s the Bengals that are the favorites heading into this match by 3 points.

There are a few factors that weigh into this game and pick. If any of you can remember, the Chargers beat the Bengals at home in the 2014 playoffs as the 6.5 underdogs, which undoubtedly is something that cannot be easily forgotten and still stinging.

They’re a much better team since then, both on offense and defense. Notably, running backs Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard have added balance and strength to quarterback Andy Dalton’s play-making options.

The thing is, San Diego is quite a good team as a ATS road underdog, going 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games. They’re also coming off a great win against the Detroit Lions, which should give them an extra morale boost, even if they have to travel cross coast all the way to Arrowhead.

My betting pick: I like the odds on San Diego and believe they can cover the spread. I’m taking San Diego at +3

Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers

Nobody can tell what will happen when these two teams play each other, it’s just too unpredictable. But, if the Packers aren’t careful Seattle could put one over them as they did in January’s NFC Championship game where the Seahawks won in overtime.

Regardless, the Seahawks are the 3-point dogs heading into this game and nobody knows if Kam Chancellor will be in the fold come game time which gives the Packers more of an edge.

Green Bay is 9-1 straight up in the last 10 games between these two at home and QB Aaron Rodgers connected with veteran James Jones for two TDs in their last game.

My Betting Pick: I’m going for Green Bay SU.
