Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Analysis

The Crimson Tide may not be used to being the underdog, but that’s exactly what they are when they play against the Georgia Bulldogs, after having lost 43-37 to Ole Miss, notwithstanding the pummeling they gave Louisiana Monroe to the tune of 34-0.

Alabama doesn’t seem to have their ducks in a row this year. Quarterback Jacob Coker struggled against both the Rebels and the Warhawks and the entire offense seemed to follow suit, except for Derrick Henry, who has racked up 422 yards with eight touchdowns. However, if the Crimson Tide wants to win against Georgia, they’re going to have to fire things up and play as they have in the last years.

On defense, they’re going to have to keep the pressure on Bulldogs’ QB Greyson Lambert, forcing him to make mistakes, and of running back Nick Chubb if they want to increase their chances of winning. Lambert has been impressive this season, so it’s specially important that they keep him on his toes throughout all the game.

Georgia Bulldogs Betting Analysis

It’s going to be the Bulldogs’ first real test against an elite opponent. Regardless of their wins against Louisiana Monroe, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Southern, they know that the Crimson Tide is a whole ‘nother ballgame.

QB Greyson Lambert appears to be up to the challenge though and he’s meshed well with running back Nick Chubb and receiver Malcolm Mitchell. These three have put together an awesome combination that could do some heavy damage to Alabama’s defensive unit.

This year, the Bulldogs also have a solid defense that could rattle Jacob Coker. Linebackers Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins, could find the opportunities to rush him and get the sack. Between the both of them, they’ve managed to sack opposing QB’s a total of 5 times and gotten 10 tackles.

Betting Odds: The line favors the Bulldogs by 2 points; the total is at 53.5 at the moment.

Betting Trends:

  • Alabama is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games. The total has gone OVER in 6 of Alabama's last 8 games
  • Georgia is 6-3 ATS in its last 9 games. The total has gone OVER in 14 of Georgia's last 21 games

My Pick: This is going to be an epic game. Neither of these two squads will pull back any punches. I feel Alabama will come away with the upset, it’s the Crimson Tide at +2 for me.
