Oklahoma Sooners vs Clemson Tigers

  • Time: Thursday, December 31, 2015 4:00 PM ET
  • Place: Sun Life Stadium

Sooners Betting Analysis

The Sooners are strong on both sides of the ball, which makes them a very balanced team. On defense, Oklahoma ranks 33rd in the nation against the run, allowing only 139 yards per game while on the road. On offense however, is where they shine and where they’ve been dominant against opposing teams putting up 500 yards or more in each of the last seven games after their loss to Texas. The two lowest outputs in yards have been against the Longhorns for 278 yards and against Tennessee for 348 yards.

Clemson struggles against well balanced teams and it could open up the doors to Oklahoma to control the clock with its running game and score on big plays from Mayfield in the second part of the game. Clemson may not be able to stop them via the ground, which means that they’ll control the flow of the game and the win.

Tigers Betting Analysis

The Tigers are a solid team. Though having some hiccups defending the field in third down opportunities against opposing teams, they’ve been able to get the job done all season long.

North Carolina’s Marquise Williams was able to light them up with 240 yards and three touchdowns, but struggled mightily all game long; South Carolina’s Perry Orth also put up 221 and three scores of his own, but that’s only 50% of the total passes completed average of the Gamecock.

Clemson could create enough havoc via the pass rush that could slow down the Sooners’ offense and keep the game close.
