Notre Dame will be their first real test this season which gives fans a reason to be excited. There are however a few factors to consider if you’re betting on Notre Dame.

Although the Fighting Irish played well in their first game, they struggled against Virginia and suffered a loss of their starting quarterback, Malik Zaire, to an ankle injury.

This puts Notre Dame in a tough situation because they don’t really have a starting player in that position (last year’s starter transferred to Florida State).

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech has one of the top scoring offenses in the league this year. Through two games, they’ve managed to run up 915 rushing yards and 15 TDs in their ground game, which is something that Notre Dame has to stop if they want to force Georgia Tech to pass the ball which is somewhat of a weak point for the Yellow Jackets.

The Fighting Irish has done a decent job against the run, holding their opponents to 187 yards and only 2 touchdowns though it’s unlikely they’ll be able to do the same against the strong Yellow Jackets’ running game.

Georgia Tech needs to pressure Notre Dame’s sophomore quarterback, DeShone Kizer, and force him to turn the ball over, which would allowthem to control the clock and win the game.

If the Yellow Jackets can beat Notre Dame, which they are in a position to do so because of the quarterback situation, they will move up in the top 10 teams for their Division. However, a loss would take them out of contention of the National Championship so you can imagine how critical a game this is for Georgia Tech.

The Yellow Jackets are the 2.5-point favorites heading into this game, and we believe they should be able to cover this spread if they follow the game plan we outlined above and considering that the Fighting Irish don’t have Malik Zaire.

If however you believe the Fighting Irish have the home field advantage, you might want to take the UNDER 55.5 on this game.  Though fill-in quarterback DeShone Kizer played well in his appearances, putting up 92 yards and two touchdowns, he probably won’t do as well against a stronger Georgia Tech defensive unit.

Our betting pick: Yes, the Fighting Irish are without a starting quarterback. This gives the Yellow Jackets a big edge if they can pressure Kizer. However, if Notre Dame’s defense can shut down the Yellow Jackets’ running game, they’ll force them to pass the ball and possibly make mistakes that will cost them the game. Regardless, we’re taking Georgia Tech at -2.5.

What do you think, can the Yellow Jackets win at Notre Dame Stadium?
