Iowa Hawkeyes vs Iowa State Cyclones

When: September 09, 2017, 12:00 PM ET

Where: Jack Trice Stadium

Spread: Hawkeyes -2.5

Over/Under: 48

Who will grab the Cy-Hawk trophy in this classic rivalry game?

Iowa has come out on top in recent years, winning the trophy for the last two yeas, but the Cyclones are itching to take it home after this game.

Both teams won their opening season games, and would hope to jump ahead 2-0.

Iowa State defeated Northern Iowa, 42-24, but they’ll have to practically be flawless against their rivals who also beat their opponents, the Wyoming Cowboys 24-3.

The Hawkeyes have a good record playing on the road however, and have won four of their last five road games. It’s a brand new season though so how effective they are this year remains to be seen.

Quarterback Nate Stanley is hitting 53.3 percent of his passes, putting up 124 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. In his college career, Stanley has three passes for a touchdown on 24 pass attempts.

Iowa’s air attack is led by Nick Easley and Noah Fant, who have tallied 106 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Matt VandeBerg has two receptions.

The Hawkeyes’ ground game averages 138 yards per contest, with Akrum Wadley leading with 116 yards on 24 carries.

Defensively, Iowa is allowing only three points and 233 yards per game on average. Josey Jewell has 14 tackles, while A.J. Epenesa has one sack and Joshua Jackson has one interception.

The Cyclones on the other hand have lost five of their last eight home games.

Jacob Park is completing 77.1 percent of his passes for 271 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Allen Lazard and Hakeem Butler have combined for 183 receiving yards and one touchdown while Trever Ryen has six catches.

As far as the Iowa State’s ground game, they’re averaging 134 yards per game with David Montgomery leading with  82 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, the Cyclones are allowing 24 points and 378 yards per game. Brian Peavy leads with 10 tackles, while Willie Harvey has one sack and Kamari Cotton-Moya one interception.

Expert Pick: I believe the Cyclones are ready to defend their home field and should win by a slight margin. My pick is on the Cyclones plus the points.

Oregon Ducks vs Nebraska Cornhuskers

When: September 09, 2017, 4:30 PM ET

Where: Autzen Stadium

Spread: Oregon Ducks  -14

Over/Under: 73

If you’d just watch this game over the weekend, it’d be worth it. It faces two powerhouse teams that will be clawing their way to national relevance.

The Ducks showed just how good they are on offense when they’re firing on all cylinders in their win over the Southern Utah by 77 points.

This matchup against Nebraska favors Oregon; the Ducks’ offense is flexible and could pose all sorts of problems to the Cornhusker’s defense via the ground attack with running backs Royce Freeman, Kani Benoit, and Tony Brooks-James, who combined for eight touchdowns against Southern.

Meanwhile, Nebraska also won their first game of the season.  However, they struggled to defeat Arkansas State in what should have been easy picking for them.

The Cornhuskers did win 43-36, but it really didn’t impress many, proof of which is evident in how the line has moved since opening.

Nebraska wasn’t able to contain Arkansas State’s offense; stopping the Red Wolves proved harder than expected and Arkansas State racked up 97 yards and 32 first downs using a screen over and over to gut Nebraska's coverage for yards on the perimeter.

Even while Nebraska’s offense was good, led by quarterback Tanner Lee, the transfer from Tulane, who completed 19-of-32 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns without an interception, their  problems on defense cast a big shadow on the effort.

Arkansas State cut through Diaco’s defense with short passes and relied little on the run and it’s clear that if they don’t do a better job it’s going to be a long game for Nebraska.

Betting Trends For Oregon vs Nebraska

The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Nebraska's last 12 games
Nebraska is 14-6 ATS in its last 20 games on the road
Nebraska is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games on the road
Oregon is 3-11-1 ATS in its last 15 games
Oregon is 3-8 SU in its last 11 games
The total has gone OVER in 12 of Oregon's last 17 games

Expert Pick: It’s the first big game of the season for the Ducks on their home turf, so I expect them to go out there to make a statement. The line opened favoring the Ducks at 4 and it’s move to 14 since which is indicative of how the oddsmakers think this game will go.

TCU Horned Frogs vs Arkansas Razorbacks

When: September 09, 2017, 3:30 PM ET

Where: Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium

Spread: TCU Horned Frogs -4

Over/Under: 58.5

The Horned Frogs and Razorbacks breezed through their FCS opponents last week, but this game will be more of a challenge for both teams.

Last week, TCU struggled on defense, allowing too many points and relying on the offense to bail them out.

If the Horned Frogs want a shot at making the playoffs this year, their defense has to step it up and stay away from allowing big plays while forcing some turnovers.

TCU will look towards keeping the momentum gained from their 63-0 season-opening drubbing over Jackson State, but it’ll take a win at an SEC stadium to get some traction.

The Horned Frogs have not gone on the road for an SEC game since 1997, when they lost at Vanderbilt 40-16. Their last win in SEC country was at Vandy, 16-3, in 1995.

The Razorbacks meanwhile are unpredictable albeit somewhat inconsistent.

Arkansas won over the Florida A&M Rattlers 49-7 on Saturday, scoring the first 42 points of the game.

Austin Allen led the way with 135 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Chase Hayden led the ground attack with 120 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, while Devwah Whaley wound up with 60 rushing yards and a touchdown, and David Williams added two rushing touchdowns

The game is being played on Arkansas’ home turf, so I expect them to come out gunning and give TCU one heck of a battle.

Betting Trends For TCU vs Arkansas State

Texas Christian is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games on the road
Texas Christian is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games on the road
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Texas Christian's last 6 games on the road
Arkansas is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games
Arkansas is 14-7 SU in its last 21 games
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Arkansas' last 6 games

Expert Pick: The Razorbacks have the slight edge because of the home field advantage, and they’ll win by a few points. Take the Razorbacks plus the points.
