Atletico Madrid Betting

Atletico Madrid struck early in the first game at Vicente Calderon and came out with the 1-0 victory. They now have an advantage heading into Allianz Arena, where if they score even one goal it’s likely they’ll move on to the finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Off of a brilliant play orchestrated by Saul Niguez that got past defenders Juan Bernat and Xabi Alonso in the 11th minute of the match, Atletico opened up the score.

Head coach Diego Simeone has created a rock-solid defensive stratagem that’s extremely hard to get past. Though Bayern did have a few clear scoring opportunities, goalkeeper Jan Oblak denied Arturo Vidal and David Alaba in critical saves. Even at Allianz Arena, it’ll be hard to score against Atletico, who have allowed just five goals in 11 Champions League matches. Atletico will also have Diego Godín back in the fold, who is returning from an injury that kept him off the field in the first match.

Atletico Madrid predicted starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Oblak; Juanfran, Gimenez, Savic, Luis; Niguez, Gabi, Fernandez, Koke; Torres, Griezmann

Bayern Munich Betting

Bayern dominated most of the second half of the first game. Regardless, Pep Guardiola’s squad was still unable to score what would have been a valuable away goal. Now they are forced to not only score an equalizer at home, but defend against an Atletico that will do anything to score at Allianz and jump ahead in the scoreboard.

Bayern has been questioned on whether or not they have what it takes to close on critical games in non-Bundesliga matches. Although they’re the clear leaders in their league, the German squad has been unable to clinch a Champions, falling last year at Camp Nou and, of course, the embarrassing 5-0 defeat against Real Madrid in Guardiola’s first year as head coach. Heading into this game, they also weren’t able to crown themselves as the Bundesliga Champions, after tying 1-1 against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

After having decided to keep Thomas Muller from the starting lineup in the first game, Guardiola has been criticized. Muller has been Bayern’s talisman in many of their games, including the victory over Juventus in the last series of the knockouts. However, Muller will start at Allianz, a field which has proved to be advantageous for Bayern as they’ve won all 11 Champions League matches played there.

Bayern Munich starting lineup (4-1-4-1 formation): Neuer; Lahm, Martinez, Alaba, Bernat; Vidal; Costa, Thiago, Müller, Coman; Lewandowski.

Game Predictions: Muller starts with his squad in this game and Bayern comes out playing aggressively, opening the scoreboard and tying the aggregate. However, Atletico counterattacks and gets a valuable away goal that sends them to the UEFA 2016 Finals.
