It wasn’t easy for the Jayhawks to beat the Sooners the last time these two met earlier this season. In fact, it took them three extra periods to do so, which is why this upcoming game has the potential to be one of the best this weekend.

Perry Ellis scored a game-high 21 points, along with three assists, on Tuesday night and helped his team overcome No. 10 West Virginia by a score of 75-65. Landen Lucas also pulled his weight, grabbing 16 rebounds (his best mark so far) as well as nine points and four blocks.

The Jayhawks will need a similar effort against the Sooners if they want to win this one. Ellis, Wayne Selden Jr and Frank Mason will need to focus to overcome the Oklahoma defense that is giving up 71.4 points this year. Ellis scored 27 points along with 13 boards in the first time around back on January 4.

On defense, the Jayhawks will have to figure out a way to shut out Buddy Hield, who clocked them with 46 points last month and has been practically impossible to stop in almost every game.

Bet on the Sooners

After losing to the Kansas State, the Sooners regrouped and beat Texas on Monday night by three points 63-60.

Buddy Heild scored a game-high 27 points in the victory and scored the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer with just 1.3 seconds remaining on the clock.

Oklahoma is 10-0 SU and 4-6 ATS in its past 10 home games, a record which they’ll try to improve as the face the Sooners. Hield is the country’s second-leading scorer (25.7 PPG), but will be tested against a Jayhawks defense that is givingup  68.6 points per game this season.

Isaiah Cousins and Jordan Woodard should also pose a threat for Kansas. Both players are putting up just around 13 points per game and are shooting 46.8% and 48.6% from three-point territory respectively.

On defense, the Sooners will be tested by Kansas, who are one of the best offensive teams in the nation averaging 81.2 points per game.
