New York Knicks vs Cleveland Cavaliers

The New York Knicks were unable to round themselves a win last night, losing to the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 94-84. They were outscored by San Antonio’s starting five, who put up a torching 73 points combined.

On a horrendous offensive effort, they could only shoot for 36 percent from the field. Even Carmelo Anthony couldn’t find a rhythm, making only 4 of 17 attempts from the line, and scoring a total of 19 points.

It’s not going to get easier for him, as they head to King James’ court. It’s going to take a better effort than the 24.2 points on average that they’re scoring as a team this year, and, it’s certainly going to take more than the 21.9 points per game that Anthony has scored against the Cavs in his career. Even if he receives help from his teammates, such as rookie power forward Kristaps Porzingis, who is scoring 11.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, they might fall short against the reigning Eastern Conference Champions.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are 3-1 this year, winning each of their games after losing the first game of the season to the Chicago Bulls. Undoubtedly, Lebron James will want to extend the winning streak at home.

The power duo of James and Kevin Love, is certainly up to the task of defending the home court. James is averaging 22 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, while Love accounts for 18.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. As a team, they’re also very effective in scoring hitting 46.4 percent.

Despite their good numbers however, the Knicks need to take better care of the rock because they can’t afford to turn the ball over as they have. New York is a very defensive team and they could force them to turn the ball over and cost them the game regardless of how many points they can put up.

Relying solely on James and Love is something that they Cavs need to be mindful of, injuries were an issue last season and they’re going to have to count on the bench to get the job done in order to keep their two star players well-rested and healthy throughout the season.

Game Prediction: The Cavs are too strong at home and the combination of James-Love will score in double digits once again. Take the Cavs.

Who do you think will take it? Make sure to place your bets early, the line is moving fast.
