Detroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles, Game 1, ALDS, Thursday, October 2, TBS.

The Tigers were 5-1 against the Orioles during the regular season, so they will be feeling confident going into this series, they have made it to the ALCS three years in a row, so they are a very experienced team that will be tough to beat. The Orioles made the playoffs in 2012, but lost to the New York Yankees in the ADLS, they will be hoping for a better performance against the Tigers in this year’s ALDS.

Pitching Matchups

The Tigers will go with Matt Sherzer in game 1, while the Orioles will send Chris Tillman to the mound.

Sherzer won the Cy Young award last season, and followed it up with another good season, and leads the Tigers in wins, strikeouts, and ERA this year. He is also 4-2 in the playoffs, with a 3.42 ERA, and will be a tough challenge for the Orioles.

Chris Tillman has pitched well for the Orioles in the past three seasons, and finished this year with a 13-6 record, and a 3.34 ERA. He will be making his playoff debut against the Tigers, but he will have the home crowd behind him, which will make things easier for him.

The Tigers don't only have one of the best starting rotations in baseball; they also have one of the best offenses in the league, and will be very tough for the inexperienced Orioles to handle.

The Orioles have a lot of offense, which will come in handy against the Tigers, and also have a good pitching staff, which has the league’s 7th best ERA against, they will have their hands full against Detroit, but should be able to stifle their offense.

Personal Pick: The Orioles will win in front of their home crowd.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers, NLDS Game 1, Friday, October 3, FOX Sports 1

This is a rematch of last year’s NLCS, but this time the Dodgers have a pitcher who is on a very hot streak, and home field advantage.

Pitching Matchups

The Cardinals will send Adam Wainwright to the mound, and the Dodgers will send Clayton Kershaw.

Wainwright has won a World Series title with the Cardinals, and is a very experienced pitcher; he has a 4-3 record in the playoffs, which includes 4 saves, and a 2.53 ERA. He also had one of the best seasons in his career, with a 20-9 record, and a 2.38 ERA, making him a very tough opponent to go up against.

Kershaw is having a great season so far, but he hasn’t had a lot of success in the playoffs. He has a 1-3 record in six starts, and 4.23 ERA. He will need to turn things around this time around, and has a great opportunity to do so against the Cardinals who are 23rd in runs scored this season.

The Dodgers were 4-3 against the Cardinals this season, and 1-0 against Wainwright, which should give them some confidence heading into the game.

The Cardinals had some success against Kershaw in the playoffs last year, and will try to go after him again when they play.

Personal Pick: The Cardinals are the more experienced team, and will find a way to win this game.
