The Atlanta Braves continue their west coast trip against the Seattle Mariners

Both Erik Bedard and Brandon Beachy have overcome obstacles to produce successful seasons thus far. If each has a performance similar to his most recent outing, the Seattle Mariners and Atlanta Braves may have trouble generating offense. Betting baseball will make the long season more exciting and there is no place better to wager on major league baseball than Skybook. Online sportsbook Skybook has the latest odds and wagering opportunities on every game in baseball. Bedard’s Mariners host Beachy’s Braves on Monday night in the opener of a three-game interleague series at Safeco Field. The Mariners (39-39) haven’t produced many runs for their pitchers of late, Bedard (4-5, 2.93 ERA) included. The veteran left-hander has received fewer than five runs of support in 13 of his 14 starts. He allowed two runs - none earned for the second straight start - and struck out a season-high 10 on Wednesday against Washington, but lost 2-1. It marked his first defeat since April 20, when he lost his fourth straight outing to begin the season. Seattle won two of three against Florida over the weekend, but has scored two runs or fewer in eight of its last 10 games. The Mariners are hitting .229 during that stretch. They took 10 innings to score twice Sunday, but that was enough to beat the Marlins 2-1. Rookie second baseman Dustin Ackley went 3 for 5 and scored the winning run, while Brendan Ryan went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Ackley is batting .300 and has hit safely in seven of nine games since being called up for his much-anticipated debut June 17. Sunday’s contest was the first multi-hit game of his career. Beachy (2-1, 3.22) is pitching like he could be in the big leagues a long time. The rookie right-hander made a strong return in his last outing, beating Toronto 5-1 on Wednesday - his first start since May 13 due to a strained oblique. He allowed one run and struck out a career-high 11 in six innings. Atlanta (44-35) will be hoping for a different result after falling 4-1 at San Diego on Sunday in a game where all the runs came in the eighth inning. The Braves entered San Diego on a four-game winning streak, but lost two of three to the Padres. They mustered only two hits in the series finale after pounding out 12 in a 10-1 win Saturday and wasted six shutout innings from starter Tim Hudson. The Braves struggle against Bedard on the road and the Mariners get the win.
