Thursday Night Football: Ravens vs. Falcons!

Thursday Night Football: Ravens vs. Falcons!
This week Thursday night coverage of the NFL begins with a game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Atlanta Falcons. The latest NFL sports betting line as posted by Skybook has the Falcons listed as slim one point favorites over the Ravens. This is a potential Super bowl preview as division leaders clash in a midweek battle.

The Baltimore Ravens are off a huge win against the Miami Dolphins. Up to this point the Dolphins proved to be road warriors and had yet to lose a game away from home. The Ravens quickly changed that by dominating the fish and the scoreboard as they grabbed first place in the AFC North.
The Falcons also grabbed a win on Sunday, but it was much closer as they held off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a huge defensive play. Late in the game Tampa Bay was driving for the game winning score and attempted a fourth and one, but were stonewalled by an underrated Falcons defense. The win kept the Falcons atop the NFC South and undefeated at home at 4-0. The Falcons will attempt to remain undefeated at home when Ray Lewis and the Ravens come to town on Thursday Night Football.
The matchup to watch in this game will be the high flying offense of the Falcons against the hard-nosed defense of the Ravens.
The Falcons rank fifth in total offense in the NFL and are led by Matt Ryan at quarterback and Michael Turner leading the way out of the backfield. That combination is a threat to score through the air or on the ground.
The Ravens counter with the ninth ranked overall defense in the league anchored by Ray Lewis at linebacker and Ed Reed in the secondary. This defense attacks the ball carrier and intimidates opposing offenses from the first snap.
The Ravens are 18-6-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last 26 games as a road underdog of 0.5-3.0 and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following a win. However the Falcons have some trends in their favor for this game as well.
The Falcons are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games as a home favorite and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games after failing to cover the spread.
The Thursday night game features two of the best teams in the league and it will be a good game to enjoy and wager on!
