Here are just a few of the great games that will be offered up on Sunday afternoon.
Penn State vs. Virginia Tech
The Penn State Nittany Lions are off to a fast start on the young college basketball season as they have won seven of the first nine games. Their opponent, the Virginia Tech Hokies have not been so lucky.
The Hokies have started the season at just 4-4, but a big home victory over Penn State could get the team kick started. The Hokies losses include losses to two ranked teams, rival Virginia and UNLV, which is not that bad when you consider the opposition.
Penn State has lost its only game on the road and all of their wins come over less than respected schools. This game will be a good measuring stick for the Lions to see if they are ready to play with the tougher conferences in the country.
Boston College vs. Maryland
Perhaps the biggest game on the Sunday schedule is an ACC meeting between the Maryland Terrapins and the Boston College Eagles. Both of these teams are brimming with talent and have notched seven wins on the season and that is good enough for second in the conference only behind the Duke Blue Devils.
Reggie Jackson scored 26 points, in a win over Providence and is one of the main reasons the Eagles have grabbed seven wins in a row as they head into this contest with the Maryland.
Maryland rebounded from a stunning loss to Temple to score 99 pints in a tune up game with NC Greensboro. Besides Temple, Maryland has only lost to ranked teams on the year. They were beaten by No. 3 Pittsburgh and No. 13 Illinois. This early season meeting with the Eagles will be a great game to watch and a pivotal conference game in the ACC.
