NFL Preseason Week 4, final week of the preseason

The rest of the final preseason games to be played on Thursday are:

Washington Redskins vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 7:30 PM. ET.

The Redskins offense has been well rounded, and they have shown that they can defeat teams on the ground or through the air. If they can maintain it, and their defense plays as well as it has, they will be tough to beat. The Buccaneers first team offense looked good against the Dolphins, but only managed one score, they should be more efficient once they have learned the new offense.

Baltimore Ravens vs. New Orleans Saints, 8 PM. ET.

The Ravens offense has looked very good in the preseason, but their defense is still suspect, they played well against the 49ers, but allowed 30 points against the Cowboys. They will need to be more consistent once the season begins. The Saints offense is still as explosive as it was last year, but the new look defense still hasn’t lived up to the hype yet.

Chicago Bears vs. Cleveland Browns, 8 PM. ET.

The Bears feel that they finally have the offense that can lead them on a deep post season run, but need their defense to be healthy in order to do that. The Browns still have a lot of work to do on offense, but don’t feel that Johnny Manziel is ready to be their regular season starter.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Houston Texans, 8 PM. ET.

The 49er defense got picked apart by Peyton Manning and the Broncos, and their offense hasn’t produced a lot of points. Their coaches will have to go back and figure out what the problem is, and how to fix it. The Texans dominated the Atlanta Falcons, by playing good defense and running the ball effectively. If they can play like that on a consistent basis when the season starts, they will be a tough team to beat.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Tennessee Titans, 8 PM. ET.

The Vikings have played well this preseason, due to the play of their quarterbacks, who are making it difficult for their coach to decide on the regular season starter, on defense, they have played well against the run, but have to do a better job against the pass. Jake Locker is showing the Titans coaching staff that he has the talent to be a good quarterback in the league, he just needs to show them he is also durable, which is a problem he has had since being drafted.

Denver Broncos vs. Dallas Cowboys, 8 PM. ET.

The last time Peyton Manning faced the Cowboys, he torched them for 414 yards and 4 touchdowns, luckily for the Cowboys, he won’t see enough playing time to do it to them again. The Cowboys run defense has been exploited during the preseason, and is something they need to address before the season starts, because they will face running backs like LeSean McCoy, and Alfred Morris twice during the season.

Arizona Cardinals vs. San Diego Chargers, 10 PM. ET.

The Cardinals got some more bad news on defense, with Darnell Dockett injury his ACL, which will force him to miss the rest of the season. The team will need other defensive players to step up and fill the void he leaves on defense. The Chargers came back to earth against the Seahawks, after defeating the Cowboys, and allowed over 200 yards on the ground. They will be in for another long night if they can’t stop the run against a Cardinals team that also likes to run the ball.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Oakland Raiders, 10 PM. ET.

The Seahawks ran for 243 yards against the Chargers, which helped them get the win; they will try doing the same against the Raiders, who have struggled against the run also. The Raiders will be hoping to have Derek Carr back from his concussion, so they can give the rookie some extended playing time, to see if he is ready to become the team starter, or if he needs to sit for a while.
