NFL Preseason, Week 3 Preview Weekend

The rest of the week 3 games to be played on Saturday, August 23, are:

Tennessee Titans vs. Atlanta Falcons, at 7 PM. ET.

The Titans are hoping Jake Locker can stay healthy this year, so they know if he is their franchise quarterback or not. The Falcons are healthy, and improved their defense in the offseason, and will be a threat in the NFC South.

Washington Redskins vs. Baltimore Ravens, at 7:30 PM. ET.

The Redskins ran for 177 yards against the New England Patriots, which is good news for Robert Griffin III if they can be this dominant on the ground in the regular season. The Ravens looked even better on the ground, gaining 237 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in their first game.

New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts, at 8 PM. ET.

The Saints look well rounded on offense, their new look defense is still a work in progress, but is expected to be better once the season starts. The Colts didn’t look too good offensively against the Jets, especially on the ground.

St. Louis Rams vs. Cleveland Browns, at 8 PM. ET.

The Rams offense was very effective against the Saints, but the defense, which is expected to be their strength didn’t play very well. The Browns were major players in the offseason, and should have one of the best defenses in the league this year, but they are still trying to figure out who their starting quarterback should be.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Kansas City Chiefs, at 8 PM. ET.

The Vikings are still trying to sort their quarterback situation out, but they played very well defensively against the Raiders. The Chiefs offense has looked very good so far, but they need to pick up the defensive intensity.

Houston Texans vs. Denver Broncos, at 9 PM. ET.

Houston’s quarterback situation might cost them again this season, none of the quarterbacks on their roster has looked very good so far, and their defense won’t be able to carry them all year long. The Broncos have been looking good so far, and are hoping their improved defense can carry them back to the Super Bowl.

There are two games scheduled for Sunday, August 24.

San Diego Chargers vs. San Francisco 49ers, at 4 PM. ET.

Phillip Rivers and the Chargers offense were almost perfect against the Cowboys, and will try to continue playing at a high level. The 49ers run defense was terrible against the Ravens, and could be a problem for them because they play in a run heavy division.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Arizona Cardinals, at 8 PM. ET.

The Bengals looked well rounded offensively against the Chiefs, but still have a lot of work to do on the defensive end. The Cardinals executed well offensively and defensively against the Texans, and are looking like a legitimate threat for Seattle in the NFC West.
