First Round Games Stanley Cup Playoffs 2017 Predictions

Game Six Edmonton Oilers vs San Jose Sharks

  • When: Saturday, April 22, 2017, 10:00 PM ET
  • Where: SAP Center at San Jose
  • Moneyline: Sharks -138 vs Oilers +125
  • Over/Under: 55

Analysis: Itís due or die for both teams and thereís reason to think itíll go to seven games. The Oilers regrouped after losing Game 4, 7-0, and won the next game 4-3. Edmonton opened up the spigots on offense and showered San Jose goalie Martin Jones with a truck full of shots on goal. The Oilers also adjusted and have cut down on giving away as many power play opportunities. The Sharks will need their best players to show up if this series is going to take another game. Brent Burns needs to perform in Game 6. And, though Jones might be able to mount another defense, he needs clearly could use a lot of help if they donít want him to be pummeled with shots  once more.

Game Prediction: This is going to seven games. San Jose wins.

Game Six Montreal Canadiens vs New York Rangers

  • When: Saturday, April 22, 2017, 8:00 PM ET
  • Where: Madison Square Garden ó New York
  • Moneyline:  Montreal -110 vs New York +100
  • Over/Under: 5

Analysis: The Canadiens are losing grip and now face elimination as they head to Madison Square Garden for Game 6 of this series. Montreal has been unable to break down the Rangers defenses; Canadiensí top scorer Max Pacioretty is still goalless and is 0-24 in the series. The Rangers won the fifth game in overtime; New York proved their grit clawing their way to victory despite not leading at any point in regular time. Mario Zibanejad scored the game-winner 14:22 into the extra period. The Rangers will now benefit from itís home crowd, look for it to be an intense environment.

Game Prediction: Montreal wins a tough game.

Game Five St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild

  • When: Saturday, April 22, 2017, 3:00 PM ET
  • Where:  Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul, MN
  • Moneyline: Minnesota Wild -178 vs St. Louis +160
  • Over/Under: 5

Analysis: The Wild refuse to go home with their tails under their feet. St. Louis will have to give eliminating St. Louis one more shot and theyíll have to do so in Minnesota. The Blues still lead the series 3-1, so itís still no time to panic if your a Blues fan. But, if the Wild get motivated on their home ice this could turn into a competition. If Devan Dubnyk continues performing well, and Zach Parise along with Nino Niederreter can start producing goals then you can expect the Wild to live another day.

Game Prediction: Blues win and close out the series.
