New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys

  • Time: Sunday, October 11, 4:25 PM
  • Place: AT&T Stadium, Dallas

Tom Brady has lead his team to three victories so far. Last week they did away with the Jacksonville Jaguars to the tune of 51-17.

Behind a strong offensive drive, where Brady has connected with Rob Gronkowsky and Julian Edelman, the star quarterback has completing an impressive 72 percent of his passes for 1,112 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Patriots have also shown great form in their running game, behind the legs of running back Dion Lewis who will undoubtedly rack up yards against a weak Dallas against-the-run defense, that has allowed 347.8 yards of offense per match.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves without quarterback Tony Romo, and have relied on fill-in Brandon Weeden, who although giving his best is still no match to Romo’s abilities. If you add in that Dallas’ ranks have been decimated by injuries, missing players like wide receiver Dez Bryant, and you have the makings of a disaster come Sunday.

Weeden and the Cowboys have lost two games in a row, against the Falcons and the Saints, running up their loss total to 10 games whenever Weeden has started.

Despite losing against the Saints in overtime, and having tied the game on fourth and seven in the fourth quarter, Dallas is unlikely to find themselves in a similar situation against the Patriots who are playing much better than New Orleans.

The Cowboys might be able to put up an unwavering defense against New England, but I just don’t see them being able to shut down Brady as they did Drew Brees. They might force him to make a few mistakes, but without an offense to capitalize on this, they’ll just fall short of the mark and unable to score points.

Betting Line:

The New England Patriots are favorites by 10 points so far; the total is currently at 50 points.

Game Prediction:

The Dallas Cowboys will fall in their home turf and Weeden will once again be unable to set up a decent offensive drive. Tom Brady and the Patriots’ offense will run circles around the Cowboys and probably score big time in passing and running.

Game Trends:

  • New England is 4-0-1 ATS in its last 5 games
  • New England is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
  • Dallas is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games
  • Dallas is 15-6 SU in its last 21 games

Game Pick:

Hopefully you’ll be able to find a book that is offering New England at -8, however most books have them at -10 which is still a good bet that they should be able to cover. Take the Patriots ATS.
