Why Bet On The Raptors

The Raptors win in Game 2 made beating the Wizards look rather easy.

Toronto came out gunning and went on an offensive rampage in the first quarter of the game, scoring a franchise-record 44 points while gaining a 17-point lead.

Blazing away was DeMar DeRozan, who tallied 20 points in the first half alone. He ended with a game-high 37 points on 14 of 23 shooting.

As it stands, the Raptors be about ready to stick a fork in the Wizards because they look practically done. Barring a meltdown (which has happened before), Toronto is still underway to pulling together another win in Washington.

The Raptors are the better team both on offense and defense; to win, they just need to keep on doing what got them here in the first place. In other words, keep playing well and it should be fine.

Toronto is already two games ahead of the Wizards, driving the final nail in the Wizards’ coffin should be too much of an effort.

Why Bet On The Wizards

It’s not only that the Wizards are two games behind in this series, it’s also that they’re trailing seven losses out of their last eight games which is even more worrying.

The Wizards were running around like chickens with their heads cut off under the relentless Raptors offense. In fact, Washington wasn’t even able to get going until about midway in the third quarter of Game 2 when they managed to cut the lead down to five.

It’s obviously a relief for them that they series is heading to Washington, but the way they’re playing it’s probably for naught.

Unless they can be better than the Raptors on both sides of the court, which means better performance from all players, it’s likely they’ll lose.

Even if John Wall gives an all-out All-Star performance, when you have other players like Bradley Beal only scoring nine points on 3 of 11 shooting there’s not much to look forward to.

Free Prediction: Washington is the 2-point favorites to win; but, I don’t see Toronto having a playoff meltdown. Raptors’ players will probably have their playoff history buzzing around their heads, but this time it’ll give them the motivation to get the job done. The Raptors will jump ahead to a 3-0 lead.
