Bet on the Celtics

It wasn’t the expected outcome for the Celtics playing on their home court. Though just losing the game by 1 point, the Celtics had to claw their way to this score after being 17 points behind at the end of the first half.

Isaiah Thomas made a huge effort in keeping this team from not being blown out, putting up a game high 27 points with 8 dimes to his name. Evan Turner and  Marcus Smart put up decent numbers acquiring between the both 25 points, 13 boards, and seven assists.

Boston struggles came on the defensive end, allowing the Hawks to cut through and create scoring opportunities from within the paint. Jared Sullinger, Jae Crowder, and Amir Johnson had many difficulties down the middle, being unable to stop Al Horford and Paul Millsap from scoring from inside the paint.

The Celtics might find themselves hampered by Avery Bradley’s hamstring injury. It’ll put more pressure on Turner and Smart to come up with more points. However, if the Celtics can get help from the bench in Game 2, we might see a different outcome.

Bet on the Hawks

Horford and Millsap kicked things up for the Hawks, wreaking havoc from within the paint and passing through the lanes. Kent Bazermore added a solid contribution as well; between the three they managed to put up 61 points, 27 boards, along with 7 blocks to boot

Jeff Teague was also on fire, putting up 23 points with 12 dimes while being the anchor that held things together during Boston’s comeback run in the second half.

Kyle Korver however was not effective in scoring from downtown, ending 0 for 7 from beyond the arc. If Korver can pick himself up, the Hawks have a solid shot at winning game 2 as well.
