Bet on the Padres

The Padres are 5-2 in their last 7 games following an off day and 2-7 in their last 9 vs. American League East. San Diego Padres would do well to score a win on the road after losing six of their last nine games. In their last three games, the Padres have scored 18 runs and have also amassed five or more runs in five straight games.

The San Diego Padres offense has been gaining some momentum as of late, winning eight of their last 11 games when scoring more than three runs.

Luis Perdomo will start on the mound for the Padres and is 2-2 with a 8.79 ERA and 35 strikeouts this season. This will be Perdomo’s first career game against the Orioles. Perdomo is a Rule 5 pick who put up his first major league win as a starter last June 15th against Miami, giving up three runs and six hits in six innings. San Diego is counting on him to have the same performance against the hard-hitting Orioles.

San Diego lies at the bottom in the National League West and split a four-game series with the Nationals, winning the final two and scoring 13 runs in the process. The Padres are 1-3 in interleague play this year.

Bet on the Orioles

Baltimore leads the American League East by one game and has played every one of their games against American League opponents. However, now will face the Padres in four matches within nine days. The Orioles will head to San Diego for a two-game series next Tuesday and Wednesday.

This game marks the third without Manny Machado, who is currently on suspension for taking part part in the brawl with Kansas City pitcher Yordano Ventura earlier this month.

Baltimore will start with Tyler Wilson on the mound, who had his best start of the season last Thursday against Boston. Wilson blanked the Red Sox for eight innings, allowing only three hits in shutting down the Red Sox.

The Baltimore Orioles are hoping to gain some traction after splitting their last 12 games. Baltimore have allowed 12 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in eight of their last 11 games and have an ERA of 4.21, losing six of their last seven games when allowing more than three runs.
