Whether Lackey is on course for Tommy John surgery any time soon or not, he has pitched better in five starts since coming off the DL. He rebounded against the Phils on Wednesday, going 7 2/3 innings and allowing two runs in a 2-1 loss. For Toronto, Brandown Morrow matched a season high with 10 strikeouts during his last start against the Pirates. He allowed just one run on four hits and three walks en route to his fourth win of the year. Morrow is now 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA in his past three outings. The New York Mets take on the LA Dodgers. Chris Capuano gets the start on the road for the Mets. Three home runs last Wednesday prevented Capuano from recording his fifth consecutive quality start, though he did emerge with his fourth victory in five decisions. Capuano will open up the series at Dodger Stadium, where he owns a 4.76 career ERA. The Dodgers will send southpaw Ted Lilly to the hill. For just the third time in 302 career starts, Lilly did not strike out a batter in his last start as he gave up six runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings vs. the Twins. Lilly is now 0-3 with a 10.43 ERA in his last three starts, allowing 17 runs.
