Saturday NBA Matchup: Houston vs. Atlanta

The Houston Rockets travel to Atlanta to take on the Hawks Saturday tonight at 7pm EST. Atlanta is riding a five game winning streak and with all star Joe Johnson healthy again they're a legitimate threat to the powers of the Eastern conference. This is a team that has six double digit scorers and has the perfect mix of young and veteran players.

They are playing their best basketball of the season and, although no one is saying much about them right now, come June these hawks might also get a taste of adoration from hotlanta much like the Falcons are feeling the love now.  Their opponent, however, is a different story.  The Rockets have lost five out of their last six games and find themselves three games out of the last playoff spot in the always tough Western conference.

Houston has no issues scoring -- they are fourth in the league. Their defense, however, is poor and teams have taken advantage of their size in the paint. The loss of Yao Ming at the beginning of the year has hurt their interior defense.  With the athletes they have there is no excuse for where they stand in the points allowed category. Kevin Martin, Houston's best player, is still suffering from a sore wrist and may not play tonight.  Atlanta forward Marvin Williams won't be playing either plagued with a sore back.

Trends and Notes:
Atlanta has covered and gone over four out of their last five games.  Houston has failed to cover the line four out of its last five games.
Atlanta is 19-21 and Houston is 18-19-2 and if you are into O/U Atlanta is 17-23 and Houston is 18-21.  Log in and view Skybook lines and don’t forget to take advantage of the current 100% deposit bonus offer!
